Our northern uplands and commons, their ecology, archaeology and history have been a lifelong fascination, culminating in the study of old maps for ancient rights of way and latterly as an artist who responds to their aesthetics. These passions are complimentary to the objectives of commoners on Ingleborough monitoring habitat condition and delivering agri-environmental schemes. My endeavour is to express my emotional empathy with these landscapes, character and relationships by expressing watercolour and textures in unconventional and intuitive ways.
